In the beginning, the commerce faculty was a mono department faculty with no constituent departments. In 1979, the need for specialization in various functional areas of commerce was recognised and the faculty was divided into three departments. The faculty of commerce was headed by Shri K.S. Saxena and later by Dr. K. L Gupta. They also served as the Dean, Faculty of commerce of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Agra. At present, Dr. Girish Kumar Mittal, is the head of the department. He is ably supported by Dr. Anil Kumar and Dr. Gunjan Agarwal.
Student and Teacher Strength –. At present, the department has a sanctioned strength of 03 teachers to teach bout 900 undergraduate and 160 postgraduate students.
Curriculum Planning and Implementation – Well designed yearly academic cum activity curriculum is prepared collectively by the faculty. Periodic reviews are done to ensure the effective implementation of the curriculum plan/ time table & academic calendar. Changes are inculcated to benefit the students who are the future leaders.
Learning Resources – The department has best in class library with a rich collection of books, magazines, periodicals and related study material which are easily available to the students. The department is also supported by the central library for advanced research and learning practices. We regularly invite experts and alumni to enrich the learning experience and to get valuable inputs and updates about recent developments.
Additional Study Material – The case studies of various multinational companies are discussed regularly in class. The material is given to every student so that they come prepared in class. Group discussions among students make the entire classroom sessions more interesting and engaging. There sessions are helpful to in understanding issues from various angles and take the right decision.
Assessment – Assessment is being done for every student by group presentation, class test and subject assignment and feedback about performance is given by the faculty to the students for necessary improvement.
Learning Outcome – The department holds the privilege and honour of giving university toppers and has a pass percentage of over than 80%.

Feedback from Stakeholders –360-degree feedback is taken from all stakeholders including students, parents and from all faculties in order to assess and analyse the gravity of the concerned issues.
Research and Publications- The department is very active in the area of research. 14 scholars have been awarded Ph.D. degree under the research guidance of the qualified faculty. Faculty and students of the department are constantly involved in research paper publication in international and national journals, paper presentation in conferences, seminars, textbook writing, contributing to conference proceedings, chapter writing and authoring/ co-authoring books.
