Brief overview:

In the beginning, the commerce faculty was a mono department faculty with no constituent departments. In 1979, the need for specialization in various functional areas of commerce was recognised and the faculty was divided into three departments. The faculty of commerce was headed by Shri K.S. Saxena and later by Dr. K. L Gupta. They also served as the Dean, Faculty of commerce of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Agra. Dr. S. S. Agarwal and Sh. C. B Gupta later served as the head of the department and the convener of the board of studies of the university. At present, Dr. Brajesh Kumar, is the head of the department. He has been serving the department since 1986. He has also served as the member and convener of the board of studies of the university.

Student and Teacher Strength – The department has a sanctioned strength of 04 teachers to teach about 900 undergraduate and 160 postgraduate students.

Curriculum Planning and Implementation – The department offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Curriculum is planned at the beginning of the session according to academic calendar. It is revised regularly and implemented strictly.

Learning Resources – Several reference books, journals etc. are available in the college library that are available for the teachers as well as the students for reference and consultation.

Additional Study Material – Students are suggested to go through various reference books, online study material along with class notes to enhance their learning and knowledge.

Assessment – Discussions and oral questionnaires in the classroom assess the performance of the students which help them to improve if necessary. 

Learning Outcome – The Department has a consistent record with an average pass percentage of around 80% in PG classes and outcome of UG classes depends on the consolidated efforts of all the three departments namely Business Administration, Account and Law and Applied business Economics.

Best Practices – Besides lecture method, Group discussion is used as a learning resource.

Feedback from Stakeholders – Student feedback is collected from the students and Guardians feedback is collected by the college.

Research and Publications- The faculty is actively engaged is research activities, participation and organising symposiums and seminars.
