In the beginning, the commerce faculty was a mono department faculty with no constituent departments. In 1979, the need for specialization in various functional areas of commerce was recognised and the faculty was divided into three departments. The faculty of commerce was headed by Shri K.S. Saxena and later by Dr. K. L Gupta. They also served as the Dean, Faculty of commerce of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Agra. At present, Dr. Mukesh Pathak, is the head of the department and Dr. Pankaj Varshney is the principal of the institution.

Student and Teacher Strength - At present the department has a sanctioned strength of 03 teachers to teach about 900 undergraduate and 160 postgraduate students.

Curriculum Planning and Implementation – The department offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The classes are organised as per the academic calendar and curriculum plan prepared at the beginning of the session.

Learning Resources – The college library has collection of several rare books. Besides this, the departmental library has about 100 books contributed by the teachers, alumni and students. These are available for consultation to teachers, postgraduate students and meritorious undergraduate students.

Additional Study Material – Economic survey, Journals, Union budget etc. are shown to students from time to time.

Assessment – Regular assessment of students ensures timely feedback for their improvement.

Learning Outcome – The department has a consistent record with an average pass percentage of 85% to 90%.

Feedback from Stakeholders – Anonymous student feedback is collected, summarised and communicated to teachers.

Research and Publications- Teachers of the department are actively engaged in research activities and have several research papers, seminar proceedings, book and book chapters to their credit.
