Shri Varshney College was founded in 1947 with the goal of providing quality education to equip the students to face the challenges that new knowledge brings. The College has completed its journey of more than seven decades and emerged as a reputed multi-faculty College with Science, Humanities, Social sciences, Teachers’ Education, Commerce & law faculties. Shri Varshaney College is an amalgamation of dedicated professors, professional staff, and an experienced and efficient (competent) management team that fosters a supportive environment for its students in order to provide a perfect blend of academic, athletic, artistic, and social opportunities.
Genuine concern for our institution is to ensure students a holistic vision of life by engaging them in advancing scholarly enquiry, cultivating critical and creative thoughts, and generating innovative knowledge within a value-driven framework. As a result, we educate students the value of wisdom, tolerance, and respect for other people's perspectives. One of the strengths of this institution is discipline and integrity, as a result of which we strive to produce conscientious and self-assured Indian citizens. The motto of the Institution, “तमसोमाज्योतिर्गमय'' provides us perpetual motivation to acquire knowledge and virtues by overcoming the darkness of our ignorance. As Gandhiji observed, “by education I mean an all-round drawing out of the best in child and man-body, mind, and spirit." The purpose of education is to acquire knowledge, humanity, culture, wisdom and sharpness but it is true that knowledge cannot be given rather it is earned. Similarly, the character cannot be granted but it could be cultivated gradually with persistent efforts made in this direction.
New Education Policy 2020 aims to reorient the education system towards meeting the needs of the 21st century. In the coming years, the college would focus on the successful and effective implementation of the national education policy (NEP-2020) in our Institution. For the institute, it would be both an opportunity and a challenge. Come on, let's give our best and make this institution, a modern temple of learning through our diligence, devotion and dedication. I wish all the students grand success in their careers and prosperity in their future life. It is my pride privilege to be a part of and to serve this esteemed Institution.
